About The Event
For the month of 22nd June, SW is proud to bring back Dr. Chuah Guat Eng, a diverse and multi-lingual septuagenarian writer, to Ipoh. She is no stranger to Ipoh writing and literary scene as she has been a regular guest here to share her experience and thoughts. Dr. Chuah was with SW during our fourth installment back in 2016 and we felt she has so much more to offer and decided to ask her to come back, which she has graciously accepted despite her hectic schedule. Yes, like our nonagenarian prime minister, she is still actively pursuing her writing career. Her first novel, Echoes of Silence, was cited as the first English novel written by a Malaysian writer and she self-edit, proof-read and publish the book herself, a feat she repeated in all her subsequent writings.
The theme for her talk this month will be “Feeling Malaysians, Writing For the World: Finding Your Authentic Voice As A Writer”.
So, as usual, we hope to see you there.
