Perak Society of Performing Arts presents Voices from Vienna to Broadway

“He who sings frighten away his ills” Miguel de Cervantes ~Don Quixote~

As part of PSPA’s mission “Encouraging Understanding and Awareness for the Arts in Perak”. We are proud to present yet another choir concert to be held for the first time at Tandoor Grill Restaurant on Saturday 16th November, at 8.00 pm.

How it all began? The founder of PSPA Singers was Mr Chin Yoong Kim, and he was the driving force behind the choir for more than a decade, 12 years to be exact. Under Mr Chin’s stewardship, the PSPA Singers have contributed many successful and memorable in-house productions, concerts, theatre plays and musicals. The maestro has since passed the baton to Ms Marianne Poh, the present music director, after the concert “A Message of Love and Inspiration” in end of November 2010.

The current group of PSPA Singers is a healthy mix of seasoned members and young talents. The unifying factor for the choir members is nothing but a passion to sing. The troupe counts 28 members, ages from 10 to 50 years old. Indeed, PSPA Singers have all these years been a talent incubator where new talents are discovered and nurtured.

PSPA Singers are now proud to present a performance together with three prominent singers from Thailand, and they will not be belting out just known repertoires but musicals too.

The performance has an interesting program. The first half of the show consists of repertoires by Mozart from his well-known operas: Don Giovanni and Cosi Fan Tutte as well as extracts from Bizet’s Carmen and Rossini’s The Barber of Seville.
