The 7th Night of July Beneficiary – Lighthouse Hope Society
The Lighthouse Hope Society (LHS) is an NGO located at No.4, Jalan Koo Chong Kong in Old Town, Ipoh. LHS was established in 2006 with the intention of providing free meals, medical care, haircuts, clothing, drug rehabilitation assistance, legal assistance and other humanitarian help for the poor, hungry, helpless and homeless in the society regardless of race or religion.
The poor and downtrodden needy people are a part of the society that is often “invisible” to the public. LHS hopes to reach out and support those who are homeless, hungry and lost. Through the ministry of the LHS, the poor people are fed a decent meal in a clean and sheltered environment, treated medically for any sicknesses they may have, helped towards drug rehabilitation if they are involved in drug addiction and empowered towards being trained for job placement.
Over the years the LHS have extended the scope of its ministries to include:
Orang Asli Economic Empowerment Project: Rubber/durian seedlings and young chicks are supplied to villages.
Ration delivery to needy villagers in orang asli villages, or those temporarily affected by natural disasters (e.g. monsoon)
LightUP our Kampung Solar Projects to assist villages without access to electricity
